YMCA of the Northern Sky is partnering with the Big Pine Lake Water Ski Team for a one day Adaptive Water Skiing opportunity! In 2022 the Big Pine Lake Water Ski Team added adaptive water ski clinics for children and adults with mental or physical special needs. They believe water skiing is for everyone...come learn to water ski for FREE! The Big Pine Lake Water Ski Team provides equipment, boats, trained instructors, drivers, and safety personnel. We will hold a training for all volunteers two hours before the event starts.
For ages 12+. The Sit Ski is a great way for people who may have special needs to experience water skiing for the first time.
We are looking for 10-15 volunteers total to make this event possible. Volunteer duties can include assembling lifejackets, talking to participants, helping participants get into the Sit Ski, USA Water Ski certified volunteers to be in the boat and side skiers, and more.
