As part of our commitments to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, we want to help kids grow and thrive by ensuring access to healthy meals – regardless of their family’s financial status. Learn more about each of our food program options below!
YMCA 2026 Hunger Heroes Summer Meal Program
We help kids reach their full potential by participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). We provide FREE healthy breakfasts and lunches in Cass and Clay Counties to ALL children up to age 18 at NO CHARGE when school is out for the summer. All meals meet standards established by the USDA.

Fargo and West Fargo Sites:
Dates: May 26 - August 26, 2026
- Independence Elementary School, Fargo
- L.E. Berger Elementary (in partnership with West Fargo Public Schools), West Fargo
- Schlossman YMCA, Fargo
- YMCA South Learning Center at Urban Plains, Fargo
Fargo and West Fargo Parks:
Dates: June 8 - August 14, 2026
- Brunsdale Park, Fargo
- Park at the Arbors, Fargo
- South Park, West Fargo
Rural Route, ND & MN Sites
We provide FREE healthy meals to ALL children up to age 18 at NO CHARGE. One week of meals will be available at each site weekly throughout the summer, with a few exceptions (7 meal bags, 7 breakfasts, and 7 lunches). Please check the schedule PDF for exact dates.. Meals do not need to be consumed on site. An adult may pick up the meals with prior approval. All meals meet standards established by the USDA.

In Summer 2025, we successfully distributed an incredible 96,898 meals (breakfast and lunch) to children in rural areas.
